ATSIWLS is the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Women’s Legal & Advocacy Service, a community legal centre based in Milton that provides free legal advice, information, assistance, and referrals to support Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander women in Queensland. ATSIWLS provide a broad range of legal advice and assistance in Family Law, Domestic Violence and Child Protection, Debt Matters, Wills and Estates, Discrimination, Victims Assist, Tenancy and some Employment Matters.
Sign-ups for the first three open competitions are now open. The competitions are as follows, and will begin their preliminary rounds in week 3, with finals in weeks 6 and 7:

This year, each competition's preliminary rounds will be held on a specific day of the week. For Negotiation this is Monday, for Wit Ex it is Tuesday, and for the IHL Moot it is Thursday.

The Social Media Department at the Law Institute of Victoria is currently running a National Facebook Competition which ALL law students (LLB and JD) across Australia are eligible to enter. As a result of the competition, 25 law students will be selected to attend the National conference and participate in various events. Competition winners will have the opportunity to attend the 2013 Conference on 20 – 22 March 2013 as part of a sponsored Student Delegation.

This year the keynote speaker will be The Honourable Kevin Rudd MP who will address the topic: 'Globalisation and its implications for law schools and lawyers'.

Applications for legal clerkships open on Monday 25 February 2013 and close on Monday 18 March 2013. If you are applying for clerkships this year be prepared. Come along and make sure your application will be one of the chosen ones!
The Australian Law Students Association (ALSA) Conference is coming to Brisbane in 2014, and now is your opportunity to be part of the Conference team!
The Conference is an annual event that hosts the national competition finals (ie mooting, client interviewing, negotiation etc), education forums and workshops, and as always, stellar social events for all delegates.
